03/07/10 Mary's Touch - Benito and Johnnette

"And then the Blessed Mother said to me; 'pray more,' and I thought, I can't do that."

This week you'll hear from Alan Ames: Despite an upbringing as a Catholic, Alan strayed from the Church, wasting his life in sin. After he married and had two children, he settled down a little. But the change was only temporary, and he soon found himself falling back in to bad company and a sinful life. Depressed and tormented by nightmares, Alan was saved by a confrontation with an angel who commanded him to pray and pray some more

And you'll hear from Carmen: As a little girl, Carmen’s grandmother taught her to love Mary. At the age of 39 she had her last child – a little girl born four weeks too soon. The rosary and the loving hand of Mary save both mother and child, her “miracle baby.” Now retired, Carmen spends her time telling everyone about the love of Mary.

"He was all wrapped in Katrina, and FEMA and he just kept going on and on... and then he decided he didn't love me anymore and he just wanted to take off."

This week you'll hear from Rosary: Growing up as a young girl, Rosary’s mother passed on to her a deep devotion to Mary. Good thing – because she would need it. After hurricane Katrina destroyed her home, her husband of 40 years left her. When most of us would have nothing left to give, she was asked to pour out her remaining emotional energy as an offering to the one person who had hurt her most.

And you'll hear from Vince: Vince had always lived his life in the driver seat. But a serious car accident forced him to acknowledge that while man proposes.

02/14/10 Mary's Touch -Msgr. Phiilip Reilly and Mary

"We have a cultural of death, and the people in it God loves. So we bring Christ and Mary in love to them."

This week you'll hear from Msgr. Philip Reilly. Msgr. Reilly is the founder and director of the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, one of our nation’s largest prayer-driven pro-life organizations. Through prayer, especially the rosary, the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants bring the love of Christ to the sidewalks and streets in front of abortion-mills around the world.

And you'll also hear from Mary. Mary’s daughter married the boy next-door; a young man who the family thought was the perfect match for their daughter. Within two years however, what had started as a dream come true for Mary’s daughter turned into a nightmare of drugs, alcohol, infidelity and divorce. Desperate to protect her daughter from a violent ex-son-in-law, Mary turned to the Blessed Mother for help. Her prayers were answered but at a terrible price.

"I had absolutely no idea who Our Lady of Guadalupe was – I thought maybe she was a false image that Mexicans worshipped."

This week you’ll hear from Barbara: When Barbara discovered she was pregnant, she was worried. She was older and had miscarried before. Fortunately for her the women in her rosary pray group stepped up, and bringing an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to her home, prayed over her and her unborn child. Not only was the pregnancy an uneventful one, but Barbara develop a new and deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

And you’ll also hear from Rosemary: A life of drugs and alcohol robbed Rosemary of her sight. One day she had a vision of Mary and Jesus, both of whom promised her that her sight would return. Quite literally, Rosemary clung to this promise with a faith not lead by sight and in due course her eyes were healed.

"When I tried to share what the rosary was about with our non-catholic members, the group just disbanded."

This week you'll hear from Linda. Linda’s faith was deepen and enriched by being part of a prayer circle. She and her sisters in Christ, many of whom were protestant, would often meet and bring the power of intercessory prayer to those in need. However, when Linda suggested that prayers for Mary’s intercession be included by the group, things changed.

And you'll also hear from Armando. Growing up in Puerto Rico, Armando was often frightened by statues of the Blessed Mother. But later, as he came to understand that Mary was one of the first disciples, his love of the Blessed Mother led him to a life with the Marianist Brothers.

This week you’ll hear from Father Willy Raymond, National Director of Family Theater Productions. Father tells a deeply moving story of how he saw a dying man taken to Christ by our Mother Mary, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

And you’ll also hear from Steven. Though he attended Catholic School for all grades, Steven did not know, or understand, the Catholic Church until he developed a relationship with Mary.

12/13/09 Mary's Touch -Dianne and Nephtalie

This week playing on Mary's Touch...
"I was told by the doctors that I had less than a year to live... That's a lot to take in in one conversation."

This week you'll hear from Dianne. Diagnosed with colon cancer, Dianne was told that she has less than a year to live. Perhaps guided by the Holy Spirit, Dianne made a list of the things she wanted to do before she died. And the first thing on the list? A trip to Knock, Ireland, that would reset the course of her life.

And you'll hear from Nephtalie: Nephtalie tells a story of how, after being told that she had cancer, she gave herself over to the care of the Blessed Mother and received a miracle.

"I finally said one night about four o’clock in the morning, ‘OK God, just take it all. You might as well let me die because I can not exist like this…'"

This week you'll hear from Maureen: As her son struggled to find his way in life, Maureen prayed to the Blessed Mother and St. Therese to care for him. Her prayers were answered – but (tragically) not in a way that she imagined.

And You'll hear from Frank: Though he grew up Catholic, he married an atheist and began a slow decent in to an emotional, material and financial hell. Reaching out to Our Lady, Frank grabbed for her mantle to help stop his free fall.

"I hold our Lady responsible for bringing us to this priest, bringing us to the light, and teaching us that on this earth there is much good but there is also darkness – and we must never look at it but always look at the light.”

This week you'll hear from Charlotte: Working at a successful not-for-profit Charlotte and the rest of the staff become aware of an evil presence, a dark hand hovering over their work.

And You'll hear from Father Bert: A lifetime pursuit of the “presence of Mary” gives Father the grace to slide through life’s many frictions and be joyously open to his vocation as a priest.

"So I am standing before my Mother and I am praying, the tears are just pouring out of my eyes, when all of a sudden I begin to feel this very intense warmth in my abdomen...”

This week you'll hear from Michelle: Traveling to the Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe fulfilled a life long dream for Michelle. Kneeling in front of the Tilma, Michelle received healing from a silent killer growing inside her.

And You'll hear from Carol: Carol was excited for her daughter Eden as she prepared to leave for college. Nothing could have prepared her for what was about to happen during the last summer that they spent together.

10/18/09 Mary's Touch - Marlene and Katie

"We did not expect to ever to return to Europe again, little did we know that God's plan would be different."

This week you'll hear from Marlene: Founder of Our Lady of Lourdes North American Volunteers, Marlene’s life was changed forever when, in 2002, she won a free trip to Europe and made a stop at Lourdes. While waiting in line for the baths, she gave up her place for another pilgrim in dire need. In perhaps reward for her kindness she was not only admitted to the baths but spent the day bathing the sick and dying. After the profound privilege of assisting in the baths that day, “the American housewife pulled from the queue” was inspired while kissing the floor to promise Our Lady to return the next year with the 10 volunteers.

And You'll hear from Katie: Converting shortly before her marriage Katie drifted away from the Catholic Church. Through the study of the book of Revelation she discovered Mary through the eyes of St. John the Evangelist. Through Mary, pointing the way to Her Son, Katie fell in love with the Blessed Sacrament and returned to the Church.

Enjoy this week's show and God bless you!

"I saw this with my own eyes: she looked in the corner of the room with such delight that I went down on my knees immediately because I knew that Mary was there."

In this show, you'll hear from Sister Marilyn Minter. Sister Marilyn is a Franciscan Sister who, at a young age, watched an older Sister die while having a vision of the Blessed Mother.
And you’ll also hear from James. James tells the story of how a vow to Mary protected some Italian seminarians – including the future pope John XXIII.

09/06/09 Mary's Touch - Julie and Father Tom

“My husband and I had decided to get a divorce, calling the two kids in to the room, telling them that mom and dad are not happy together. Despite the fact that they were huddled in the corner crying their eyes out my selfishness said ‘they’ll be fine, as long as I am happy, everything else will work out OK.’”

This week you'll hear from Julie. Julie grew up nominally Catholic, going to Mass for fear of disappointing parents. Though she had professional success her marriage was failing. Seeking divorce a priest challenged her and her husband to research real purpose of marriage.
And you'll hear from Father Tom Forrest. Father Tom tells the story of how a prayer to Mary saved him from his unprepared self while in seminary.

"I would say out loud to Mary, 'it’s not that I do not appreciate a heavenly Mother but I need an earthly mother… I need my mom, I need my mother to give me something.’”

In this show, you'll hear from Cheryl. Cheryl was baptized and confirmed but grew up not knowing her faith or her mother well. Cheryl got to know Mary through Jewish faith and turn to the Blessed Mother for more help from earthly mother with her children.

And you will hear from Steve. Living as a nominal Catholic, Steve realized how one can approach Jesus through Mary. After seeing (and reading) the devotion to Mary by the likes of St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Alphonse Liguori, Steve was drawn into a deeper relationship with Christ, strengthening his role as a father and work in Catholic media.

"As a young child I was introduced to pornography... which became my catechism for sexuality which, unfortunately.. I took in to my marriage."

This week you'll hear from Greg. As a young boy Greg was exposed to pornography, an experience which shaped how he saw women, including his wife. When his marriage was falling apart and nearing divorce, he discovered that the beauty and dignity of women could be found through a meditation on the Blessed Mother.

"I wasn't living a life worthy of the Gospel. I was basically doing my own thing because I didn't know Jesus. You can't love someone you don't know....By getting close to our Blessed Mother, she softened my heart and opened me up to what is true and what is real and what is important, which, ultimately, is a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ..."

This week you'll hear from John. He was a career-driven media personality who thought mostly about climbing the ladder to success and partying all the way up. After he saw a documentary on our Lady of Fatima, his life began to change...so much so that he would go on to do great things for Christ....
...and you'll hear from Father Edward Dougherty. He talks about Mary and how she is the model of human, Christian faith.

Father Willy and Steven

Program 2.46- August 2, 2009

This week on Mary's Touch...
"...He suddenly started sharing something wonderful with us. He told us that he could see coming toward him the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and he said, 'I think I know who it is...and there are many others with her.' At that moment, something truly beautiful happened: His daughter reached over and touched him and said, 'Dad, if you would like to go with them, please do so. Don't be afraid. We'll be fine here. We know you are going to something wonderful.'"

In this show, you'll hear from Father Willy Raymond, Director of Family Theater Productions. He tells a deeply moving story of how he saw a dying man comforted by Mother Mary and then taken home to Christ...
...and you'll hear from Steven. Though he received his education in Catholic schools, he did not know—or understand—the Catholic Church until he developed a relationship with our Blessed Mother.

07/18/09 Mary's Touch - Chris and Carmen

"I started to see the warts and how people's lives were not in order and all the Catholic teachings that had been hijacked by this group...and I thought, 'This movement is obviously fallible and even corrupt in some ways. The Catholic Church is the birthplace of these beautiful realities: the incredible St. Padre Pio, the visions at Fatima, the list the children gave of the holiness of prayer, the radiance of Mary.' So I gravitated away from the group and back to the Church."

This week you'll hear from Christopher. As a little boy, he heard the story of our Lady of Guadalupe....a story that would remain with him like a calling card from our Blessed Mother. As a teen, he drifted away from the Church and fell in with the New Age Movement. When he discovered how much he was missing in his spiritual life, Mother Mary drew him back to his Catholic faith...
...and you'll hear from Carmen. When she was a little girl, her grandmother taught her to pray to Mary. At the age of 39, Carmen relied on the Rosary and the loving hand of our Heavenly Mother to save both her and her baby.

In this show, you'll hear from Michael Barone, of St. Gabriel Radio in Columbus, Ohio. He talks about his transformation from seeking fame and fortune and performing on MTV to seeking Christ....
...and you'll hear from Sister Emmanuel, who prayed to our Blessed Mother for a good husband. Little did she know that her husband would be Jesus!</itunes:summary>

"I prayed, 'Mary, right now, I am consecrating my daughter to you and your merciful heart. She's just on loan to me, but you are her mother for eternity. You can take much better care of her...'"

In this show, you'll hear from Sandy. When her daughter started college, she began pulling away from her faith, living the party life, and doing things her own way; she thought she could do it without God. But through Sandy's prayers, Mother Mary brought her home...
...and you'll hear a story from a wonderful young man named John. He got sent to a community to overcome an addition. While he was there, he found his faith.

In this show, you'll hear from Mary. When her youngest son was nine, our Blessed Mother asked her to pray for him. Mary didn't know what that meant at the time, but when he was fourteen, her son was faced with a life or death choice. Those prayers and our Blessed Mother's example helped him make the right decision....

06/14/09 Mary's Touch - Cathy and Marilla Ness

"...I listened to my Rosary on the way to work, and it was Thursday; so it was the Luminous Mysteries. The first Luminous Mystery is the Baptism at the River Jordan; the second Luminous Mystery is the Wedding Feast at Cana. As I was listening to the Hail Marys, all of a sudden the thought came into my head that all Mary said was, 'They have no wine.' She didn't tell Jesus what to do; she didn't ask him to do a specific thing; she didn't give Him any instructions; she just went up to Jesus and said, 'They have no wine.' So I said, 'Lord, they have no wine!' Then I finished my Rosary."

In this show, you'll hear from Cathy. She was planning a retreat and had to replace a speaker at the last minute. As things became more stressful, she was reminded of Mother Mary's simple statement, "They have no wine"...
...and you'll hear a charming story from Marilla Ness, a Catholic singer and songwriter who grew up devoted to Mary and now creates music for her.

06/07/09 Mary's Touch - Mike and Maria

"I was a cafeteria-style Catholic—I took what I liked from the Church and left the rest….The only time I prayed was when I needed something—when I was desperate....But this time was different. My dad's death really rocked my world. Early one morning, when I couldn't sleep, I felt a gentle tugging to say the Rosary…."

In this program, you'll hear Mike's story. He was a man who had fallen away from his faith. After he suffered injuries to his back, and then lost his dad, he was strongly drawn to what he calls, "The School of Mary." His love for our Blessed Mother now inspires him to write contemplative prayers for the Rosary....
...and you'll hear the story of Maria. At the age of six months, her daughter was seriously handicapped in a car accident. The Beloved, Jesus, uses her daughter's beautiful gifts to help everyone around her.

Program note: Mike has graciously provided Mary's Touch with some of his beautiful Rosary meditations.

"It was Christmas night, and my husband and I were putting away the dishes, and he knew I was being called to the mountain....Our haven here is called The Silence of Mary. The people who come here are sent by Jesus. This is far from heaven, but it is as close to heaven as I can be until, hopefully, one day through God's mercy, I will be at home with Him."

In this show, you'll hear the inspiring story of Susan, a woman who left the comforts of her mountain home to move into the inner city and open a haven for the homeless...
...and you'll hear from Eduardo, who should have died from an electrocution, but was saved because of Mary and the Scapular his wife asked him to wear.

"Each day, a whole Rosary is said, all the Mysteries from Joyful to Glorious, and there have been many prayers answered: children coming home safely from Iraq, prodigal sons, surgeries, family troubles resolved, and many blessings. I attribute this to the intervention of the Blessed Mother and our prayer warriors because Mary has everything done in her own perfect timing."

In this show, you'll hear from Norma. Her prayer group, over twenty members from the McAllen Public School System, have been praying the entire Rosary daily for the past five years. They pray for the intentions of others and have witnessed the results...
...and you'll hear a sweet story from Jim, who talks about the power of the Rosary in his life.

05/10/09 Mary's Touch - Adrienne and Serena

"My very first thought was no thought at all; it was tears running down my face in recognition that this was a metaphor I'd been using in all my professional work with parents and children, in understanding that our children are being drug away by the wolves of our culture. Here in front of me was a painting done by Giovanni di Paolo in 1456. I just stood there and wept. Finally, I walked up and read the inscription: 'Saints Clare and Francis of Assisi were known to restore life and limb to children drug away by the packs of wild wolves roaming the Italian countryside'."

In this show, you'll hear the story of a woman whose reconversion to her Catholic faith was ignited by a painting she saw at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH). Adrienne had been away from the Church for 28 years. She came face to face with a painting of St. Clare, and it not brought her back, it reconverted her entire family.... ...and you'll hear from Serena. After a stroke, her mother could no longer talk except when it came to praying the Hail Mary.

05/03/09 Mary's Touch - Chris Kramer and Tracy

"I started praying the Rosary and that led me back to Mass and confession. After about 14 years, I can't tell you how great that was to talk to the priest, tell him my sins, and hear those words, 'Your sins are forgiven'....I believe it has a lot to do with saying 'yes'—like the Annunciation when Mary said yes. The moment I listened to God's voice, I opened myself up to His grace and to her love and her heart, and my life changed for the better."

In this show, you'll hear from Chris Kramer, an actor living in Hollywood. He shares his faith journey, which started with a Hail Mary...
...and you'll hear the story of a sister's love. Tracy prayed for her brother, who was suffering from a brain tumor. She asked Mother Mary to protect him and bring him love and peace. Her prayers were answered when he visited Lourdes.

            <itunes:subtitle>05/03/09 Mary's Touch - Chris Kramer and Tracy</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>"I started praying the Rosary and that led me back to Mass and confession.

Her prayers were answered when he visited Lourdes.</itunes:summary>

04/26/09 Mary's Touch - Brother Ken and Mark and Alesha

"When I started to pray, my mind would wander....I would get two-thirds into the Rosary...completely forget what I was doing...and just give up. With my business background, I had the mentality: if you can't get it done this way, there's gotta be another way. So I took the enthusiasm from my business skills, and I said, 'Look, if I can't pray the Rosary, at least I can do something to encourage a devotion to it.' My perspective was, if I made rosaries that were masculine and attractive and gave them to other guys, then I could spread the devotion that way. So that is what I did. I actually started making rosaries before I ever prayed one...."

In this show, you'll hear from Brother Ken. He wanted to pray the Rosary...but couldn't. Through Mary's gentle guidance, he discerned his vocation to the priesthood...
...and you'll hear from Mark and Alesha, a married couple with two sides to the same story about his miraculous recovery from a stroke.

Program note: We lift up our prayers for Brother Ken and his vocation to the priesthood. Not only has he said "yes" to God in prayer, he has said "yes" to God's calling for his life's work.

"I found this Miraculous Medal of the Blessed Mother, and I held it in my hands. I would sleep with it and pray with it. I would pray to her that God would listen to me...."

In this show, you'll hear from Francisco. He was spiritually and financially devastated following his divorce. His devotion to Mother Mary sustained him during his period of darkness...
...and you'll hear from Madonna. After uniting herself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, she was quiet. In that stillness, she heard His Mother's call to collect a group of women and start a prayer group. For the past two years, they have gathered once a month to pray for the needs of the world.

"As I was kneeling there, I heard a voice in my head say, 'Wait a minute, Molly, you need to leave your babies with me'. As I continued praying, Mary put that on my heart again, "Leave them here. I will take care of them'...."

In this show, you'll hear from Molly. She suffered a series of miscarriages. It wasn't until she paid a visit to Mary at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe that she realized she hadn't fully healed from her loss. Our Blessed Mother was there for her, and she still is....
...and you'll hear from Eileen, who prayed to Mary for her own St. Joseph.

"As God would have it, I went on a retreat...and that really cracked open my heart.... The Rosary became a very powerful part of my life, and I entered into a relationship with Mary as my advocate to God the Father and the Son.... The Rosary became a part of my daily exercise, and a bunch of middle-aged Texas men—probably the furthest from the stereotypical group of people praying the Rosary—we would run together and pray the Rosary together."

In this show, you'll hear Tom's story of how Mary won over his heart. He called the Rosary 'rope prayers and plastic beads', but through a retreat, God showed him how Mary is important in our daily lives...
...and you'll hear a sweet story from Daniel, a little boy who has strong faith, even at a very young age.

"I was so desperately frightened for her, and one night when she was lying on bed, I sat by her and started praying...I gave her to Mary and I prayed, 'Please, Mary, walk with Meredith, keep her under your cloak, please petition to God that she doesn't have to suffer more than is necessary, and if she has to be taken, then please take her quickly so she doesn't suffer...' From that day on, Mary walked with us. I said the Rosary with Meredith every night before she went to sleep...."

In this show, you'll hear the moving story of how Mary walked with a young child as she suffered brain cancer. Susan taught her four-year-old daughter to pray, and she gave little Meredith to Mother Mary...

"I was about ten feet away from an opening in a parking garage, and I could hear the storm. I always carry a rosary with me...and. I remember asking the Blessed Virgin Mary to protect us because the hurricane that hit New Orleans a month earlier was pretty bad. I asked if she could send down as many angels as possible to protect all the people who had stayed..."

In this show, you'll hear from Greg, a police officer who was on duty during Hurricane Rita. As the storm hit, he turned to Mary, through the Rosary, for protection... ...and you'll hear from Linda. She read about Mary's healing power through the stories of others. Little did she know that Mary would heal her own mother so deeply that she would become Catholic.

Enjoy this week's show and God bless you!

02/08/09 Mary's Touch - Rhonda and Kyle.

"'Through the prayers of our Blessed Mother, you made it home safe.' 'Yeah,' he said, 'but I want to remind you that I had asked you to pray for all of my platoon.' 'Yes, ' I said, 'and we did.' And then he said, 'Well, Mom...all of us made it home.'"

In this show, you'll hear once again from Rhonda. In Program 1.12, she talked about how she dedicated her three children to Mary, even as her two sons went off to fight in Iraq. In this program, Rhonda talks about the power of prayer, especially the power of praying the Rosary, and how our Blessed Mother protected her son, Michael...
...and you'll hear from Kyle, a founding member of a religious order, Companions of the Transfigured Christ. In his story, he tells how the prayers of a friend and a miraculous encounter with our Blessed Mother changed his heart.

02/01/09 Mary's Touch - Lacey and Melba

"In a life and death situation, it is so intimidating, you know so little about the mechanics of all this...it's much easier to turn to Mary; to her Son, Jesus; and to God in a time of crisis if you've been in touch with them on a daily basis..."

In this show, you'll hear Lacey’s story. She was her beloved grandmother's caretaker. When her grandmother fell ill, the doctors didn't want to put her on a respirator...but Lacey's husband insisted, and through prayer and our Blessed Mother's intercession, Lacey's grandmother persevered... ...and you'll hear Melba's harrowing story. She and her family survived a terrible earthquake in Nicaragua. She knows it was through our Blessed Mother's intercession.

01/25/09 Mary's Touch - Milly and Mary S.

"I kept praying not one Rosary, but two Rosaries...three Rosaries...and daily Mass ...and I told Blessed Mother, 'I don't want anything, I only would like my husband to understand, I want to go back home; I am thirsting for the Eucharist, and I need your help.'"

In this show, you'll hear from Milly, a woman who was away from the Church. She longed to come home, but she needed her husband's consent so that she could again receive Jesus in the Eucharist. When he refused, she entrusted the situation to Mother Mary...
...and you'll hear from Mary S. Her friend died before she could become Catholic. Mary was heartbroken, but then she was reminded that our Blessed Mother loves everyone.

Featuring music from Matthew Mayer's new CD, Full of Grace

01/04/09 Mary's Touch - Carol and Benjamin

I run an orphanage for AIDS orphans who are HIV positive. ...It's a place where they know they are loved. I realized that Mary is looking out for these children as if they are her own....You just can't forget that Christ is present in the most vulnerable, and when you think about what they endure day to day, you realize how extremely vulnerable they are, and you can say, 'These kids are little Christs, and I'm here to serve them.'"

In this show, you'll hear about Carol. God called her to help HIV-positive children in India. She thought she might be there for just a short time. Little did she know how big her "yes" would be ... ...and you'll hear from nine-year-old, Benjamin, who sees Mary every day.

For more information about Carol's work, please visit www.ifoundhope.org. There you can make a tax-deductible donation and help feed these children and assist in their care.

12/28/08 Mary's Touch - Julie and Mary D.

"My friend, Charlene, suggested to me that if I'm having trouble speaking to God, then perhaps I could start talking to Mary as my mother...looking to her for peace and comfort...to give her my fears. So every day for the past three and a half years, I've said a prayer to Mary."

In this show, you'll hear from from Julie, a woman who isn't Catholic but has a deep love for Mary, which has helped her to grow more in love with Jesus...
...and you'll hear from Mary D. A serious accident left both her legs broken, but she knew God would heal her.
